On 1st January 2002, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science (FEECS) was transformed into the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communication. At the same time, the new Faculty of Information Technology was founded, based on the former Department of Computer Science and Engineering, FEECS.
